In less than 100 days world leaders will gather in Glasgow for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26).  When these leaders meet from 1 November, their ultimate aim is to secure net zero emissions globally by mid-century and keep warming of no more than 1.5 degrees within reach.

This is Australia's golden opportunity to take firm and definitive action for our future.

We are one of the few developed economies yet to publicly commit to net zero emissions by 2050 let alone legislate a process to achieve it.  Join Citizens’ Climate Lobby's 100 Days of Action campaign ...

Australia, let's make these 100 days count!

It's time the Federal Government committed to net zero emisssions by 2050. Let's send a message to the Prime Minister, Scott Morrison as well as the Deputy Prime Minister, Barnaby Joyce.

Add your voice today.

Dear Scott Morrison and Barnaby Joyce,

The November UN Climate Change Conference will be here before we know it. I hope that by then, you will have fully committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050, and joined the leading economies of the world plus all Australian States and Territories who have done the same.

Every country needs to fully play its part in order to keep warming of no more than 1.5 degrees and a viable future for everyone within reach.

This is a true opportunity for us. Our wealth of natural renewable energy sources, dynamic business and investment sector and our research and development expertise are the essential ingredients for an achievable 2050 plan.

These same ingredients could see us become a renewable energy superpower. Imagine the benefits that would bring to our Australian way of life.

We have a chance to bring our country forward to meet the hopes and expectations of our citizens and so many around the world.

Make Australians proud! Commit to achieving net zero emissions by 2050 and do it before the UN Conference begins.

Yours sincerely,
